I’m really drawn to the work of this artist (see earlier post, also reblogged from unconsumption):

3,615 pounds of textile waste is created by New Yorkers every five minutes.

Unconsumption has posted about Derick Melander previously; an accomplished sculptor, his medium of choice is not iron or plaster, but clothing. Here’s a video depicting his process and ideas. You’ll find more information on his site & his Vimeo.
