I learned something new tonight: If I edit a previous day’s Tumblr entry, the item gets reposted with the date on which it’s updated. 

How I did I learn it? I added something from today’s NYT about the “Play Me, I’m Yours” street pianos project to my original (May 25) post. (Well, it actually was my reblogging of my May 25 Unconsumption post!) As a result, the item moved from its posted May 25 position to the spot below this one, dated June 15.

Something similar happened yesterday when I edited this item I reblogged from Murketing on Sunday about adult merit badges; when I saved the edited text, the post date changed from Sunday’s to Monday’s.

Now I wonder: Am I the last Tumblr-ing person to realize that this date-updating happens?!
