Now here’s an unexpected find — a repurposing example from the 1930s — in my house:
Coca-Cola bottle caps affixed to a picture frame — holding a picture from 1941 of my grandfather!
Several months ago, I opened up the frame so I could take out the photo and scan it. It wasn’t until today, when I removed the frame’s backing again (I’m considering reusing the frame), that I noticed the metal tabs’ unmistakable red script.
I suspect my handy grandmother did the bottle-cap rigging. (My grandfather was in the Coke-bottling business.)
Definitely my cool find-of-the-day.
