Not A Pet Person? Watch This ‘Dogumentary’ : The Picture Show : NPR
Even if you’re not a pet person, this six-minute-long documentary, titled Last Minutes With Oden, will break your heart. It’s an incredibly moving story of love and loss. I had a hard time watching it.

For years I thought, “Why should Mother’s Day be different from any other day?”
As some of you know, this is my 20th Mother’s Day without a mother. For the first few years after my mom died, Mother’s Day was an outside-looking-in day for me, a non-mother who no longer had a mother to honor on that day.
It didn’t take me long to realize that I celebrate every day my mother’s influence.

It makes me both happy and sad to find (in my father’s dresser drawer) my father kept trivial things such as this note-on-a-puzzle I penned for him before the start of my second semester of college.
