For years I thought, “Why should Mother’s Day be different from any other day?”

As some of you know, this is my 20th Mother’s Day without a mother. For the first few years after my mom died, Mother’s Day was an outside-looking-in day for me, a non-mother who no longer had a mother to honor on that day.

It didn’t take me long to realize that I celebrate every day my mother’s influence.
